NARRA, PALAWAN – DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation conducted the KalusuganPLUS Project, a two-day medical mission, in Barangay Princess Urduja and Barangay Antipuluan, Narra, Palawan, from March 6 to March 7, 2025, providing essential healthcare services to underserved residents.
A total of 1,300 residents from 12 barangays received free medical consultations, physical examinations, laboratory tests – including blood sugar and hypertension screenings – and contraceptive implant procedures for women. The initiative catered to individuals of all ages, from infants to senior citizens.

Aside from the volunteer doctors, Narra’s barangay health workers gave assistance in the medical screening and physical examination.
“At BingoPlus Foundation, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Through our KalusuganPLUS Project, we aim to bridge the healthcare gap by offering free consultations, check-ups, and preventative care. Beyond addressing immediate health concerns, we empower communities with knowledge on disease prevention and overall well-being,” said Paul Tamayo, Program Manager of BingoPlus Foundation.
The foundation initiated the medical mission in Narra, Palawan, in response to a surge in dengue cases in 2024. According to the Department of Health – MIMAROPA, Palawan recorded a total of 7,060 dengue cases from January to November 2024. Narra had the second-highest number of cases, with 1,111 reported infections and 7 fatalities. Most affected patients were between 16 and 35 years old.
Due to limited resources and support, the Municipal Health Office of Narra admitted facing challenges in providing adequate healthcare and raising awareness among residents.
“Last year, I battled severe dengue, and it was a terrifying experience for me and my family. Access to proper medical care was difficult, and many in our community share the same struggle.” said Nicole Aguihap, a 21-year old dengue survivor from Narra.
Aside from the Narra-Municipal Health Office’s nurses and barangay health workers, the foundation brought volunteer doctors from Manila to help facilitate the medical mission.
“Our partnership with DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation has been invaluable in addressing our community’s healthcare needs. This initiative provided much-needed services while reinforcing efforts in disease prevention and public health education. We are truly grateful for this collaboration, which has significantly improved the well-being of our residents,” said Dr. Gina Tagyab, Municipal Health Officer of Narra.

After their consultations, patients received free medicines and vitamins for at least one month of medication (depending on the prescription of the doctors). Additionally, volunteer doctors conducted health awareness sessions on disease prevention, particularly focusing on illnesses common during the hot season.

“This medical mission provided us not only the medicines or vitamins that my family needs, but also they gave us hope and better healthcare access,” Nicole said.
With its unwavering commitment to public service, DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation continue their mission to make healthcare more accessible and sustainable for Filipino communities. Beyond medical missions, the foundation has conducted various health initiatives, including flu vaccinations and optical missions for senior citizens, while also supporting campaigns on HIV awareness and breast cancer advocacy. Additionally, the foundation provides grants for hospital and medical equipment to various healthcare facilities across the Philippines.
