Founded by 18 PAGCOR-accredited operators and a law firm, the alliance is built on four pillars: responsible gaming, regulatory integrity, player protection, and the fight against illegal gambling.
As the Philippine online gambling industry undergoes heightened scrutiny and legislative review, lawmakers, regulators, and industry leaders are working to find the right balance between protecting public welfare and sustaining the sector’s economic impact. In this context, the formation of the PlaySafe Alliance signals a unified commitment to higher standards and greater accountability.
The real threat does not come from regulated online platforms, but from illegal and unmonitored gambling that targets unprotected players. Without licensed operators, the system loses its only layer of accountability. The alliance was formed to prevent that risk and to raise industry standards across the board.

The PlaySafe Alliance will soon establish strategic committees to focus on its core priorities. The alliance’s founding members also announced plans to onboard an independent advisory panel of local and international experts to provide guidance on responsible gaming regulation, public health, financial technology, and consumer advocacy.
