DigiPlus Interactive Corporation spreads cheers at Asilo de San Vicente de Paul

A short but sweet visit at Asilo de San Vicente de Paul by the CSR team of DigiPlus Interactive Corporation brightens the day of the children and all the staff volunteers.

Paco, Manila, August 12, 2022DigiPlus Interactive Corporation (DigiPlus Interactive Corporation) is committed to giving back to the community as it reinforces its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. On August 11, 2022, staff volunteers from DigiPlus Interactive Corporation brought smiles and happiness to the children of Asilo de San Vicente de Paul (ASVP) with loads of presents, game prizes and donations in kind.

DigiPlus Interactive Corporation Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) Dominic Villanueva kicked-off the event by giving a short message citing DigiPlus Interactive Corporation’s aspirations and future CSR plans. He said, “We are here because we are giving back to the community. This is our way of expressing how grateful we are that even though the pandemic is not yet over, we are all thriving, we are still blessed. We are happy to have this opportunity to bring simple joys to these children and to the community of ASVP in our own little way.” Due to the ongoing health crisis, a limited number of volunteers were only allowed to join this initiative but the good news was that the Human Resources Department plans to hold a CSR activity on a monthly basis. “This is just the beginning, there’s more CSR activity to come so that more of our employees can have an opportunity to join. We will have tree planting, outreach to the home for the aged, bloodletting, and so much more, “he added.

ASVP representative Sister Heidi Villarrial also shared the orphanage’s heartfelt appreciation to DigiPlus Interactive Corporation for the company’s time, effort and offerings. Sister Heidi was very graceful welcoming all the volunteers and during her short talk, she enthusiastically shared the history of ASVP and how it has bested the test of time in taking care and protecting the less privilege persons. Another representative from ASVP was Melca Luzon, a successful product of the orphanage and who served as the host of the program with Gabriel Padilla who was in-charge of the sound system that kept the entire program lively.

This CSR activity was highlighted by games, performances by the ASVP children and distribution of donations such as sacks of rice, boxes of canned goods, boxes of milk, chocolate powdered drink, and other essentials like bottles of cooking oil, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, coffee packs, cookies and laundry detergents. Since it’s almost back to school, each child also received a schoolbag which contains t-shirt, towel, writing pads, notebook, ballpens, pencils and hygiene kit comprised of alcohol, hand soap, toothpaste and toothbrush.

The half-day program ended with a hefty lunch for everyone including some snack booths that served popcorn, hotdogs on stick, fishballs and sago’t gulaman refreshment that were enjoyed by children and adults alike. All attendees of the DigiPlus Interactive Corporation CSR activity at ASVP were fully vaccinated and boosted and proper health protocols were observed during the entire program.

DigiPlus Interactive Corporation’s BingoPlus kicks-off 2022 by sending relief to

‘Odette’ victims in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu

Staff volunteers from BingoPlus were all smiling behind their masks as they ready the relief packages to families ravaged by Typhoon Odette in Sitio Mar Beach in Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, 08 January 2022 – Leisure & Resort World Corporation (DigiPlus Interactive Corporation) joined relief efforts for Typhoon Odette victims in Sitio Mar Beach in Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, on the first week of the year 2022.

Spearheaded by BingoPlus, the newest gaming arm of the Retail Group of DigiPlus Interactive Corporation, around 600 families were given relief packages loaded with food and hygiene essentials. According to the residents, BingoPlus was the first to distribute aid to the affected families in their area since the onslaught of Typhoon Odette. While donations in cash and in kind were pouring in some parts of Visayas and Mindanao, nothing has reach yet to the Cebuano citizens in Sitio Mar Beach in Barangay Marigondon that is why they were very grateful to the BingoPlus team.

This much needed help extended to the typhoon-stricken families in the Visayas region is part of the corporate citizenship initiatives of DigiPlus Interactive Corporation. By mobilizing employee-volunteers, DigiPlus Interactive Corporation brought the spirit of bayanihan to calamity victims as its Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR efforts aim to spark hope and kindness during difficult times like this.

Volunteers who lend their time in sourcing, packing, shipping, and distributing the relief packages were staff from the Cebu branch of BingoPlus. This relief operation was made possible in cooperation with One Race for Filipino Services (ORFFS).

Earlier this year, they lost their source of livelihood following the closure of the Nangaramoan Beach for rehabilitation.

Bulacan, 16 September 2017 – Leisure & Resorts World Foundation (LRWF) in partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK) USA-Boston has adopted the residents of Ark of Noah in Bocaue, Bulacan.  GK USA-Boston has committed to build homes for 78 families in the community.  This community relocated from temporary shelters along the railroad tracks of Bocaue to a lot donated by a generous local doctor.  Ark of Noah residents organized and mobilized efforts to seek help from Gawad Kalinga Development Foundation Inc..

The long wait is over, almost 40 Ark of Noah residents have already moved in to their permanent GK homes.   A major problem of the community is the flow of water during monsoon rains, especially during typhoons because of the lack of a drainage system; flooding from knee-high to waist deep is a normal occurrence.  LRWF readily addressed the issue and partly sponsored the drainage system for flood prevention based on the estimate and recommendations of the Bocaue Municipal Engineering Team.

The LRWF and GK-USA Boston partnership is committed to homes and community building of GK Ark of Noah as well as promoting activities to empower the residents and be productive contributors of their local economy.
